How to Measure for Sheer Vertical Blinds
- Mounted within the window/door frame or in a wall-to-wall application
- For mounting depth requirements, refer to our “product details” tab for each product you are ordering
- If window frame is not deep enough, please order outside mount
- Step 1: Measure the inside width at 3 places: the top, middle and bottom. Round down to the nearest 1/8". Enter the smallest measurement on your worksheet. This is your ordering width. (Blindsgalore takes necessary deductions.)
- Step 2: Measure the height at 3 places: left side, middle and right side. Round down to the nearest 1/8". Enter the smallest measurement on your worksheet. This is your ordering height. (Blindsgalore will take a 1/2" deduction on height.)
- Step 3: Measure the depth at 3 places: left side, middle and right side. Mounting surface must be flat in order to attach headrail. Also, obstructions may cause measurements to vary so it is important to keep this in mind while measuring. Round down to the nearest 1/8”. Enter the shortest measurement on your worksheet. This is your ordering depth.
- If you are replacing an existing vertical blind, the headrail is included in the height measurement. Do not provide us the height of the vane or slat as the height you actually order.
- Mounted to the wall, molding around the window/door, or ceiling
- No minimum depth requirement
- Step 1: Measure the width of the area you want to cover. Enter this width on your worksheet; it is your ordering width and the width of the blind (no factory deductions will be taken). We recommend adding at least 8" to your measurement (4" on each side) to help eliminate light gaps.
- Step 2: Measure the height of the area you want to cover. Round down to the nearest 1/8". We recommend subtracting 1/2" for ground clearance. This is your ordering height.
- If you are replacing an existing vertical blind, the headrail is included in the height measurement. Do not provide us the height of the vane or slat as the height you actually order.
